Hello! I’m Merve, a Cambridge-based illustrator and designer. I recently graduated with Distinction from the MA Children's Book Illustration programme at Cambridge School of Art. I also hold a second Master’s degree in Education and have a background in graphic design. Currently, I’m pursuing a practice-based doctoral degree in art, focusing on creative approaches to illustration education and practice.

My work is deeply rooted in emotions and nature. I aim to create rich, meaningful characters that resonate with readers and transcend the boundaries of their stories.

My creative process begins with traditional techniques, experimenting with both dry and wet media to explore their expressive potential. I particularly enjoy monoprinting and often incorporate my own handmade, acrylic-based textures into my illustrations before refining the final artwork digitally.
Outside of illustration, I’m a mother of one and love reading, binding and filling tiny sketchbooks, playing the guitar, and singing.
